These glove drills pulled from our Level 1 video series give students a fun method of working on punches like the hook, cross, and uppercut, defensive maneuvers such as catching, covering, and shoulder rolling, as well as the use of sliding leverage and step-through footwork.
This video was requested by our users back in 2011. Sifu Blue demonstrates a few simple trapping progressions; The “running hand”, how to go from hand trap to takedown, hand trap to choke, and trap to hip throw. These are not part of the Chinatown JKD curriculum but can make for interesting training material nonetheless.
